Honestly, this is my first essay i showed to my english teacher and he said that this is the best essay. What a touching thing for me. Why not? Although it is not fully visible yet, but this is one of the essays i've ever made to join writing contest in Makassar. ***
YOUNG GENERATION AS A FUTURE LEADER
Young generation is the transitional of a person from childhood to the younger, accompanied
by physical and non physical development. So, the young generation is a transitional generation. The
young generation as future leaders must be able to carry out the mandate.
It is too difficult to find an ideal leader
as an activator. Although, the era of reformation, democracy can breathe freely. The question is
who able to lead us after the
reformation take place? This question is reinforce by the bureaucracy officials who are always corrupt, so the
government loss confidence. This is what we have to think, how the young generation as the successor to the nation
not to be involve in things that can harm themselves, society, nation and
state. The citizen of Indonesia exactly have a great wishes to the young generation to be able to continue the
leadership, and lead the country unto the ideals of the struggle and the proclamation of
Indonesian independences.
Firstly, grow the
heroism value by touring historical buildings. The Fort Rotterdam in Makassar,
where ancient emperors have ever stayed, has had a longstanding history as long
as over 471 years. Through it, we not only can remember many famous historical
events, but may also know the architectures, techniques and methods of ancient
people that had grasped. Some of people believes that if we broke these
valuable buildings, we will destroy a significant piece of history. More
seriously, we will not be able to rebuild them.
Another aspect,
something about endurance of the culture and also personality that currently we
cannot be avoid it, where by foreign culture who can bring influence for our
thinking and also behaving of young generation have dispersed by development of
communications technology, and also globalization era. The consequently of
foreign culture, the young generation under developed the independence, creativity
and also productivity. So, the young generation are less able to participate in
the development process by characteristic of
Indonesia.
In conclusion, by
studying history of our own country give us beneficial to posses a good
knowledge of the history, because it assures a profound understanding of social
mechanisms, and also helps us to avoid many mistakes. The young generation
should be capable of more love their country, knows the current resistance to the rapid
of technological progress
and foreign culture
enter in this country is not meant we
must be
fight in the sense of taking up our arms and also was not influenced excessively to foreign cultures.
As Indonesian, one of slogan who must be adhering in ourselves and particularly
young generation is Bhineka Tunggal Ika, differents but have one aim. By
adhering the slogan in ourselves, we can continue our patriotism struggles.
